How do you get this separate dialog? I only get an infobar integrated into the main UI. Tried with 7.2.4 and gtk3.
Nevermind, I did not expect that the change was between minor versions 7.2.4 and 7.2.5: bug 143971
OK, so when LibreOffice is already open, it displays in center of screen. On the other hand, when LibreOffice is not running, and you download a read-only document from Firefox and open LibreOffice with the read only file as an argument, this is when the bug happens. I am willing to fix this bug. I simply cannot find where the dialog is created in the code. I was searching for this dialog for hours. If you know where it's located, this might give me a hint on how to fix it.
Perhaps I can't find the dialog in the code since it was removed? Is this what you mean by saying that this was changed between minor versions?

Yes, see the commit for bug 143971 https://git.libreoffice.org/core/commit/f9ab31366dbe466ef739015734bb5b6a1a0deca4 There is nothing for you to do. You can update to 7.2.5. Of course, you are very welcome to get into LibreOffice development. If you want, you can email me and we can schedule a chat.
