Description Wim M 2022-02-02 14:58:18 UTC
Description:
I use LibreOffice in British English (en-GB) on macOS and therefore always install that language pack when upgrading LO.

During my most recent upgrade cycles (7.2.4 to 7.2.5 and 7.2.5 to 7.3.0), I was unable to get the LibreOffice language pack to install properly. Either the correct folder could not be found or the language pack installation app hung and had to be killed using force-quit. In the past, one way to get it to work would be to log out and back in or to restart the computer. This also no longer works. I have now had to resort to the workaround described in comment 96 of bug 134607 to get the language pack working.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the newest version of LibreOffice and the desired language pack.
2. Install LibreOffice.
3. Run LibreOffice once and close it
4. Open the language pack disk image and try to install it with the enclosed app.

Actual Results:
Installer cannot find the right folder and gives an error message OR installer hangs and has to be foce-quit.

Expected Results:
The language pack installs properly and LO runs in the desired language.

Reproducible: Always

I just installed 7.3.0.3 on a different Mac using the same installation files as the ones that led to this bug report and the installation went flawlessly. This was however on Big Sur rather than Monterey.

Sorry, hit submit before I completed the previous comment. It should be:

The issue no longer occurred upon installation of 7.3.1.3 (i.e., the release version). Since I had no problem installing language packs of previous versions on another Mac, I suspect that it is due to some indexing issues which occurred after my last macOS update. I am therefore marking this as a duplicate of bug 147280.
