Thumbnail changed after viewing file

1. I close a document and shut down LibreOffice Writer.

2. I start Writer again and can see the saved documents. The thumbnail of the document I had last opened now has an odd graphic on the top half of the thumbnail. The document itself is not changed, just the thumbnail.

I have attached a pic of an odd thumbnail.

3. This only happens after I shut down Writer and then restart it; not while it's open. I can close a doc, open another and then close that one with no changes.
I tried shutting off the PC and restarting. The thumbnail is still odd.

4. If I open a different document, close it, shut down Writer then restart Writer, then that thumbnail becomes odd and the previous one is now fine.
