Description Karl 2022-02-21 15:55:07 UTC
Description:
Hi developers!

Some (as well I) might use a formatted Table Sheet,
especially with different Background colors for lines or coloums.

A lot might do too.

-------------------

A very often used opperation is to move and / or Copy & Paste
the CONTEND of a cell ( formula / text / numbers ...).

When i mark one or more cells to be "copied"

THE OPTICAL Formatting is COPIED ALSO ! BY DEFAULT !

----------------------------------------------------

SO the defalut "optical layout" of the sheet is DESTROYED !

-----------------------------------------------------------

BY mouse context menues - to be clear - " text , formulas ... " can be copied
separately (without destroying layout).

BUT, if " A LOT of Cells " with different Contend ( like text, nubers ...) it runs into a

" OH GOD must I ".

SO MY REQUEST WAS TO:

BY DEFAULT COPY EVERYTHING THAN Formatting of Background or Writing - Colours or Cell Outlines or Such !

kind regards

karl

Actual Results:
format few cells different (background color)

put in different content

copy these to another different formatted cells

Expected Results:
put in contend NOT formatting

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
put in contend NOT formatting

I didn't understand, maybe someone else will.
Should you use Paste unformatted?
Best to attach sample ODS and write in it what to copy, what you get and expect.

I read the document and I don't understand what I should do.

Maybe this will help: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport#Good_Reports

I don't understand the document either, sorry.

If the original request is about changing the default behaviour of pasting cells (which includes formatting), then I think you won't find support for that.
Paste Special does remember previous settings, so if you have to repeat the same operation, you can use the paste special shortcut (Ctrl + Shift * V) and press Enter, which is quite fast. Hopefully that helps.

For now, closing as "insufficient data" as the issue is unclear to all of the contributors who replied.
