Description: 2019 reported typing cursor problem ... exactly my issue so I copy it ... I have been using LibreOffice for a number of years, and have always been very happy with everything, except the size of the typing cursor in Writer, and now as my eyesight is not quite as sharp as it used to be I am increasingly finding that I am misplacing the cursor in among a block of text and the quickest way to locate it is to hit enter and find where the paragraph “broke”, pick up the cursor and repair the paragraph. (Bit of a PITA) Is there a command, or a software switch which can be changed to thicken the vertical bar, much like I believe MS Word can, (not sure if this is correct, I haven’t used Word for years)? Steps to Reproduce: 1.create option to darken or thicken the typing cursor 2. Please, Control TC (typing cursor) or something easy to remember 3. Actual Results: I don't code well enough to solve it Expected Results: Don't wipe out we who are over 55 and hate the skinny gray semi-invisible TYPING CURSOR. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Just create a way to see the typing cursor with ease. Why the heck is it like a CIA agent hiding in the next room?
You didn't mention your operating system. Anyway, this is not a LibreOffice setting; LibreOffice should use a system setting, and it indeed does that at least on Windows (see https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/text-cursor-appearance-settings/28936/2). If it doesn't follow the corresponding OS setting, this would be a bug. So please: 1. Describe your operating system; 2. Provide LibreOffice information (setting version in the bug metadata is not enough; please copy and paste the full information from menu Help->About LibreOffice); 3. Provide the way you checked your relevant system setting, and a screenshot of the setting, and the visual appearance of text cursor in LibreOffice, which would show that it's inconsistent. Please set back to UNCONFIRMED when you provided the requested info. Thanks!
