Description Julie Stephens 2022-02-24 11:30:16 UTC
Description:
During uninstall, the dialog box displays incorrect messages. It will show "0 minutes." Then, after a minute or so, it will display another time. Then, another time is displayed. Then, another time with no "Cancel" button.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Uninstall LibreOffice
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The program is uninstalled, I believe. However, the messages in the dialog box are confusing.

Expected Results:
The messages in the dialog box at the end of the installation should show logical time remaining and "Cancel" button should not disappear.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I am not a programmer. I hope this explanation is understandable.

I can confirm next things:

1. A wrong text. Should be something like "Wait, while Windows uninstall your LibreOffice"
2. Cancel button disappearing in the end of the uninstalling process

About some strange time while the process - I think it just MSI works so.

Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha1+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 09822cf77cdbe32b03553cd05154100b5f2591d0
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); UI: ru-RU
Calc: CL

Mike, what do you think about the text changing for this uninstall window? Could we do it or it's some general window for different install/modify/uninstall process?

This is not a bug.

The "Please wait while Windows configures [ProductName]..." message, which is defined at [1], is as specified in the MSI documentation [2] (see item 20 in the table there). This message is chosen by Windows Installer automatically, and we have no control over that.

The time is also shown by Windows Installer service.

And finally, the disappeared "Cancel" button indicates that at this moment, cancelling the uninstallation is no longer possible (the uninstallation process itself is completed, and now the remnants, which were used to enable cancellation, are removed themselves).
