Description mike weissman 2022-03-08 19:24:17 UTC
Description:
All three recent versions, 7.2.2, 7.3.0, and 7.3.1, are crashing on my Mac. Unusable!!
I have a new MacBook Air M1 running, first, Big Sur, then, I upgraded to Monterey (Ver 12.2.1). Same thing is happening on both. To wit:

- Load a ODT file, looks ok, can type in it.
- Start scrolling OR click on a menu item.
-> HANGS

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load a ODT file, looks ok, can type in it.
2.Start scrolling OR click on a menu item.

Actual Results:
HANGS!!!!!!

Expected Results:
Keep scrolling (DUH!)
Menu functions work (DUH!)

Reproducible: Always

Not sure, if it makes a difference, but when you downloaded 7.3.1, did you pick "macOS (Apple Silicon)"?
Comment 2 Michael Warner 2022-03-09 13:47:01 UTC
No repro in Intel or aarch64 builds:
Version: 7.3.1.3 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: a69ca51ded25f3eefd52d7bf9a5fad8c90b87951
CPU threads: 10; OS: Mac OS X 12.2.1; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Can you attach a sample document that causes this?

Gosh, that could make a big difference! I did not notice and must’ve loaded the Intel version.

I have now installed the "Apple Silicon" version of 7.3.1, and it is running fine!

Sorry to have wasted your time, but … THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! 🙏

Cheers,
Mike Weissman
