Description B.J. Herbison 2022-03-17 18:12:35 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice should consistently appear as LibreOffice, instead of sometimes appearing as Soffice.

When I cycle through tabs on Ubuntu/XFCE the icon appears as "Soffice/Untitled 1 - Lib". See the attached image. With multiple windows present the "Soffice" only appears when that icon is selected.

Observed with Calc and Writer and with 6.4.7 and 7.3.1.3.

(I'm not sure where the Soffice is coming from. I don't see that in in the output of ps, top, or task manager.)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice.
2. Cycle through windows with alt-tab.

Actual Results:
2. As pictured, the icon is identified as Soffice.

Expected Results:
2. The icon should identify as LibreOffice.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Can you please test again with the latest LO version? Preferable 7.6.
"soffice" is the name of the executable but shouldn't show up as the application name.

As you can see in the image, the issue still exists. The Help About window also shows up as Soffice.

I compared with the previous version and the problem should be called fixed. It still says Soffice, but it clearly says LibreOffice where it didn't before.

Thank you for checking with a more recent version, B.J.
Let's mark as "works for me" then, but it's surprising that the Start Center still says "Soffice" (with a capital S too)..
