Description: Honestly I don't know if this a bug or not, but it drives me batty. I'm alternately impressed by and driven batty by Libre office. I don't use it often but I keep it on hand because it offers a number of other things (like pdf for one) that I can't get with other free programs. Thank you. I've had Libre for several years, and have gone through many an update and since the beginning, when I first downloaded the file, Libre highlights the spaces. it is especially seen when I copy/paste text from elsewhere. It drives me so batty that I normally go through and erase all the gray highlights--an anal act that drives me batty as well, and which requires a lot of discipline and follow through. I don't even know if "highlights" is the correct word to use. all I know is that between each word is a spot of gray color, which fills the entire space between each word in the entire document. It seems like the silliest thing to fret over, but such it is. Thanks for Libre office. It's a thousand times better than wordpad!!!!! and it's saved my work hundreds of times--like when I need to convert from PDF to word or vice versa; but I admit, I usually use Jarte Plus. It's less annoying and a lot prettier. another thing that drives me batty is when Libre underlines the entire sentence when I mistype a word. I want spelling, as I type, indications but not the entire sentence, and not something that is ongoing as I continue to type--something that interrupts my train of thought and demands to be adjusted. and I don't know how to fix it until the entire sentence is complete, without misspellings. sorry to be... I feel like a font of negativity. Libre Office is a great product, and greatly appreciated by me and I love the entire suite. very appreciative. but batty too. sorry. Have a beautiful day. Actual Results: It happens most frequently when I copy/paste text, usually from online. Expected Results: I don't know any way to turn off the space markers. so I just erase them manually. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I don't know what version. I just downloaded 7.5.1.2 64, but haven't used it yet. but I didn't look to see what the last version was. could be fixed by now? Libre is the ONLY free software that I've ever worked with that highlights the spaces. I think if Libre didn't highlight spaces, didn't underline whole sentences when I mistype a word, and was much prettier to look at, not dense/gray/busy, then it would likely be my favorite product. Please contrast with Jarte Plus, which uses a lot of colorful, fun icons and has much more colorful background. Jarte also allows us to turn on/off different menus and allows us to decide what/how we want to look at (it). If I had the jarte interface with the Libre office capacities, I would be over the top delighted. BTW, Jarte is discontinued; can you acquire it?
Created attachment 179152 [details] highlighted spaces the attached file has highlighted spaces in it. However, it does not highlight every space in the entire document. It only has three highlighted spaces.
Can you please attach the sample file you took that screenshot of? That will help us track down the problem.

Created attachment 179832 [details] highlighted spaces
When I first started using the product, Libre office highlighted EVERY space. Over the years it has become fewer and fewer. And just like the car that you take to the mechanic that refuses to make the noise when you get there....the screen shot I got just happened to have only a few spaces highlighted. typically it is much more. but even one highlighted space is nuts. Sorry. it just drives me batty. No other program does that, as far as I have seen.
I would love it if you could fix it and, again, apologies for the negativity!

Created attachment 179838 [details] pgn same shot I'm attaching two more files. one is pgn, the other libre office. they are both the same picture. I went to my email program and did a copy/paste. no highlights. I went to this webpage. no highlights. I went to another page. no highlights. then I went to this job website and got a number of highlights. Then I went to Chrome browser instead of Opera and copied my email again. no highlights. Then I went back to Opera, went to blueletterbible and copied a page there. everything is highlighted. so you're getting three files. not two. and I'm getting the impression that it happens more often when there are fields under the text.
