Description Dubravko Mario Radic 2022-04-05 08:39:21 UTC
Description:
Dear,

as described, in .odt doc I experienced, this moment, a strange bug that gets okay after some time (like a lag/freeze type of behaviour):

cursor is frozen, arrow keys do not function, but mouse may move it.

also, delete key does not delete characters back (to the left of the cursor position.

That makes editing impossible.

After some 10-15 min after returning to the workstation - editor started to work correctly again.

connected with that, there is another bug: side panel flickers indefinitely when mouse cursor is within the blit area.

I feel impatient to fill another bug just for that as it breaks my prooduction time flow currently, but I want to point to a possibly related issue here. (I decided to post that bug as well now, this is real time operation)

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open Master doc
2.open one more doc from the Navigator menu list of linked documents
3.after about 3 docs opened in that manner the bug will start to exhibit as described

Actual Results:
As described, nothing more to add

Expected Results:
bulletproof, no surprises rock solid ops for rapid productivity in production environment

Reproducible: Sometimes

I can't confirm with

Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d34d1db55978bdcff082af1e0f75b18fa6fc94f4

Perhaps ist only happens in very huge subdocuments (many pictures, a lot of comments, ...)

Yes, you should open a separate report. You can add bug number in "See Also" entry of the bug report.

Could be something related to Linux out of memory situation management. Have you seen this since the original report?

Dubravko, could you please retest with LO 7.6 or 24.2?
