I'm preparing a mail merge Email. When sending the document LO freezes completely and process needs to be killed.
See attached document for details

Update: Mail sent as PDF or ODT freezes LO, mail sent as HTML works (but still nothing received after hours!)
Is there a debugging or verbosity option for LO?

there were some fixes and the are other bugs, Please do:
- test with daily master LO from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
- search existing open and closed bugs to see if duplicate
- paste Help-About here.

Tried with master 2022-04-10 09:11:43
LibreOfficeDev_7.4.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_rpm

mail sent as PDF to single recipient - working, no freeze
mail sent as HTML to single recipient - working

In both cases mail was received to test account

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138398 seems to be similar

> - paste Help-About here.

you find this in the attached document

If you tested the same way for PDF and 7.3.2 is not working but 7.4+ is, than its resolved and WFM. If so, please mark.
Bug 138398 is for sending to a range of recipients, you didn't mention that.
Maybe duplicate of kf5 Bug 148445 or Bug 107047.

I actually tested the 7.4 version on a mate desktop, not on KDE...

> Bug 138398 is for sending to a range of recipients, you didn't mention that.

Up to now I was just testing a single record....

Bug 148445 seems not to relevant, but Bug 107047 looks similar

I did a test on the current Tumbleweed with KDE with the developer version as of yesterday:

- sending a HTML message to one and more recipients worked
- sending a PDF attachment to one and more recipients worked

multiple recipients was mentioned in Bug 138398 - that seems to be fixed now

Thanks for trying. We should be sure about fixing commit for marking a duplicate, so I'll just mark WFM. Good news is that most likely fix will also be in 7.3.3.
Comment 9 Axel Braun 2022-07-22 12:10:29 UTC
I tried today with
Version: 7.3.4.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.18; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

and have LO freezing again. Looks like the backport from 7.4 was not successful.
Nightly build of 7.4.0.1 works fine!
Comment 10 Timur 2022-07-22 14:16:27 UTC
If higher version works fine, then no point in opening bug for older version.
So I close again.
If you can find something that's different, that's causing a bug, then set Unconfirmed.
Per https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#bug_status Reopened is for a fix that doesn't work, and here we didn't find a specific fix.
