Description MikeH 2022-04-20 01:25:53 UTC
Description:
Using the Label option in Writer, I found these setting work for me (inches):
Horizontal pitch - 2.75
Vertical pitch - 1.00
Width - 2.63
Height - 1.00
Left Margin - .18
Top Margin - .5
Columns - 3
Rows - 10
Page Width - 8.31
Page Length - 10.5

My understanding is that Avery 5160 is one of the most popular label sheets. Its choice is available on the other program that deals with words. Why not Writer?

Actual Results:

Formats are in extras/source/labels/labels.xml (see https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/extras/source/labels/labels.xml?r=baddf594)

Here's the beginning of the file:
<!--
Legend
  (text between _[]_ is description of what should be entered
   list of manufacturers, each with a list of labels)
<manufacturer name="_[MANUFACTURERNAME]_">
    <label id="L_[UNIQUENUMBER]_">
        <name>_[LABEL_DESCRIPTION]_</name>
        <measure>_[C(ontinuous)/S(ingle sheet);lHDist;lVDist;lWidth;lHeight;lLeft;lUpper;nCols;nRows;lPWidth;lPHeight]_</measure>
    </label>
</manufacturer>

used standard paper formats
A4     210.0 x 297.0 mm
A5     148.0 x 210.0 mm
Letter 215.9 x 279.4 mm

Labels that cannot be added:
Avery J8950, L7950 - the labels are not aligned in a rectangular grid
-->
so we need values in hundredths of millimeter.

BTW, if you do this:
- select menu Fil
- select New
- Labels or Business Cards (whatever)
- In combo box "Brand", choose "Avery Letter Size"
- In combo box "User" (just below), you can choose "5160 Address".

Does it correspond to what you're looking for?
