Created attachment 179760 [details] Spreadsheet with repro instructions I've created 3 columns, A, B and C. Then I hid column B. How do I show column B again? I expect that if I select A & C (Ctrl+click) and right click then choose “Show Columns”, it will show the column between them. But that does nothing. 1. I found out through 12-yo bug #31714 that you need to Shift+Click instead of Ctrl+Click the columns. This limitation should be removed by checking if the range of columns includes the hidden column. 2. "Show columns" should not be displayed in the context menu if only one column is selected. 3. For the best UX, "Show columns" should indicate what range of columns should be shown, e.g. in this case, "Show column B".
With Ctrl+click you only select A + C, but not B, so it is not selected to show it. That combination works in that way, with columns, cells, object, etc. 1. what do you think it is a limitation?, it is how that combination of keys works. 2. Maybe, but it is a really minor issue. 3. Another step for a very little profit.
Thank you for reporting the bug. I can not reproduce the bug in Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 465c3ad95059f0efa13c8027f7383c4d20a5b2ff CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-IN (en_IN); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Yeah, Ctrl+clicking is a specific action for picking individual things. Closing.
