No repro 5.3. Repro 5.4 and 7.4+. For Justified text only.

Mark Hung committed a patch related to this issue.
It has been pushed to "master":

tdf#148940 improve non Snap-to-char mode textgrid layout.

It will be available in 7.4.0.

The patch should be included in the daily builds available at
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours. More
information about daily builds can be found at:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Testing_Daily_Builds

Affected users are encouraged to test the fix and report feedback.

I can confirm that this problem has been fixed in the daily builds. But it will introduce other problem. I will file another bug report.

Mark, status is still NEW. So is there something to do? If not, please change status to VERIFIED FIXED (as Zhang already confirmed the fix in comment 6).
