Description Linux 2022-05-08 11:18:16 UTC
Description:
Image not pasting into text document when copying from desktop in some Linux distributions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On the Desktop in the operating system Ubuntu 22.04 we have several pictures-files
2. Open in Ubuntu 22.04 LibreOffice 7.3.2 Writer.
3. Right-click on the picture file on the desktop and select Copy (Ctrl+C).
4. At LibreOffice 7.3.2 Writer we will try to insert a picture (Ctrl+V).
5. Nothing happens.

Actual Results:
If you drag the picture from desktop with the mouse to LibreOffice 7.3.2 Writer, then the picture is copied to a text document.
Thus, we see that the problem occurs if you right-click to select Copy (Ctrl+C) and right-click to select Paste (Ctrl+V).

Expected Results:
This error occurs in other Linux distributions as well.
When you try to paste a copied image into a text document, the path to it is inserted instead: file:///home/user-name/liberty-bell.png

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
No difference in image format: png or jpg.
The problem occurs only with pictures on the desktop.
There are no problems with pictures in Folders!

I tested using KDE and copying an image from the desktop and it worked fine.
