On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today + gen rendering, I don't reproduce this. After having opened the file, I responsed yes to update links and got a total of 6 pages after scrolling. Idem with LO Debian package 7.3.4.1 Perhaps Windows only bug, I'll give a try as soon as the build will end on my Windows laptop.
Zooming into the document using ctrl+scroll still produces half a second lag on any page in the attached document. Version: 7.3.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 728fec16bd5f605073805c3c9e7c4212a0120dc5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-GB (en_US); UI: en-GB Calc: CL
Reproter, as this is not a general bug but specific to a computer, you need to do additional tests. 1. Start LO in Safe mode, in Help menu. And test. 2. Then test after you rename or delete LO user profile folder ie. %APPDATA%\libreoffice\4\user. 3. Aslo, can you please confirm that there is no crash if Skia is turned off in Options-View? May be a duplicate of bug 149527.
Not sure if still worth mentioning: looks like a Skia/Vulkan issue Menu -> Tools -> Options -> View -> Check 'Force Skia Software Rendering' Press OK and restart. Crash should be gone. --- Similar: bug 152468 and bug 155084. Also interesting: Bug 153922
