Description Colin 2022-05-17 16:05:44 UTC
Description:
A second sheet with a defined print range can be viewed in the print preview window but when it is targeted to a pdf export using the menu shortcut button then the entire file -in my case TWO sheets- is exported to pdf.
The FILE> Export as PDF.. range parameters can be set to Selection/Selected sheet(s) which will work as prescribed from the FILE> Export as PDF.. function but that selection parameter is ignored if the menu "shortcut" button is used from within the print preview pane.

Steps to Reproduce:
Create an array of random junk about the size of an A0 sheet of paper
Create a second sheet and any cell to contain =sheet1 any cell within the A0 range
Drag fill an array about the size of an A4 sheet of paper
Select a portion of the sheet 2 array to roughly fit an A4 sheet and Format>Print Ranges>Define
Select print preview and observe that the desired print area is featured
Press the export to pdf button and observe that the created file is the entire workbook
FILE>Export as PDF activate the Selection/Selected sheet(s) radio button>Export
Observe that the created file now only contains the A4 portion of Sheet 2
Return to the print preview pane and observe that the desired A4 portion is still focused
Export to pdf and observe that the parameters are ignored and a full file is again produced.
There is a workaround: Instal/Use BullzipPDF print driver which remediates all the errors encountered with the default MS print to pdf driver

Actual Results:
Full file pdf print (export)

Expected Results:
Selected portion pdf print (export)

Reproducible: Always

You can use Menu/File/Export as PDF

Also, you can edit the toolbar to add that with an icon, through Menu/Tools/Options/Toolbars

You didn't read the bug report - it doesn't work consistently depending upon which route is taken and simply never worked when activated from within the print preview window

I could perform a screen grab, edit the portion I need in Irfanview and save as pdf - but that's also about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike
