Description: When the laserpointer function of KDE connect is used in LibreOffice Impress in the presentation mode, the laserpointer marker (a ring) is displayed on the Impress slide on the PC screen, but not on the beamer Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download KDE connect 2. Set the connection to the beamer to an extended mode (that mode where you see the current and the next slide on your PC screen and the beamer only shows the current file) 3. Open an Impress file and start the presentation as described 4. Use the laserpointer function of KDE connect Actual Results: The laser pointer ring does not show up on the beamer, but only on your slide on the PC screen Expected Results: Laserpointer shows up on the beamer Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: I am not sure if this is LibreOffice or KDE connect or maybe a little bit of both. I have reported the bug on the KDE bugtracker as well: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453750 So if this is not related to LibreOffice feel free to close the report. May drop a note in the KDE bugtracker. -------------------------------------------------- LibreOffice: - Version: 7.3.3.2 / LibreOffice Community - Build ID: d1d0ea68f081ee2800a922cac8f79445e4603348 - CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 - Locale: de-AT (de_AT.UTF-8); UI: de-DE - Flatpak - Calc: threaded KDE connect - Version: 1.19.1 - OS: Android 9 -------------------------------------------------- Operating System: KDE neon 5.24 KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 Kernel Version: 5.13.0-41-generic (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics Memory: 30.8 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD RENOIR I'll try to test this on Windows in the next days

Laser pointer is not supported in Impress, no wonder it does not work with KDE connect either. Maybe implementing that feature will make this work magically, but for now I'm setting this as depending on that, in case more work is needed.

It sorta already works: When you mirror the display 1:1 to the beamer (and not use it as extended display) the laserpointer is already usable. That way you can not see the slides notes though.
Dear BDF, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
