Created attachment 180294 [details] Pip being removed Hi there, I have twice tried to install Libre Office on Kali Linux but it breaks the use of other tools. All I do is 'sudo apt-get install libreoffice'. The attachment shows Pip being removed then when I try Pip or another tool like Auto Recon it can no longer find my tools on the command line. It says: File "/usr/local/bin/autorecon", line 5 in <module> from autorecon.main import main ModuleNotFoundError: No module named autorecon Exact same for pip but file is /usr/local/bin/pip. I posted more screenshots here as I really wanted to use LibreOffice for my OSCP exam and that is our exam discussion group: https://discord.com/channels/780824470113615893/780824472021106700/977856000671490070 Hope this helps David
My Kali version which is one from last month: Linux kali 5.15.0-kali2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.15.5-2kali2 (2021-12-22) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_Linux, Kali is a Debian-derived distrib. I use Debian testing and when I do: - apt-file search pip or - apt-file search autorecon it finds nothing. How did you install these both tools? If you also use sudo apt-get install or graphic equivalent, it may be problem of the distrib.
Hi, pip is the python installer for python which comes standard with lots of Linux distros. Granted autorecon isn't but I don't think it should be touching anything related to any of these to be honest. Afterwards I did install an older version of Libre via the downloaded gzip which worked okay but the apt install still seems to cause issues.
If the apt triggers the pb, it might be a dependency pb so I'd rather say a Kali distrib pb. Could you submit a bug on Kali? Let's close this one. At worst, this tracker can be reopened.
No prob I'll submit a bug at Kali. Thanks
