When writing a document and adding footnotes, then making a mail merge using that template, the footnote numbers are incremented across the whole mailing rather than reset for each letter. For instance, I have a template with two footnotes numbered "1" and "2" in the document. I do a mail merge that will output 4 letters with different addresses. In the preview (on screen), each letter has the correct footnote numbering ("1" and "2") But when printing it with the Print button in the mail merge toolbar, the first letter will have "1", "2"; then the second letter will have "3", "4", etc. With a large enough mail merge and enough documents, the two footnotes end up being numbered in the hundreds or thousands when they should instead reset with each distinct letter/document.
