Created attachment 180667 [details] Left border from character style lost (before/after the paragraph was assigned in TOC) Description: Border and Padding from character style are modified when the paragraph is assigned to a table of content or index. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a character style with border and padding. 2. Create a paragraph style without border or padding. 3. Write a title and apply the new styles. 4. Both the border and the padding from the character style are displayed. 5. Create a table of content and assign the new paragraph style as additionnal style. Actual Result: The title loses both the left border and padding. Expected Result: The title should display the character style as expected without modification. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: It is not acceptable to adjust the character style in such a way when a paragraph is assigned in an index or table of contents. Tested in LibreOffice 7.3 and LibreOfficeDev 7.4 but I think this bug is very old (maybe inherited from OOo), though I couldn't find any trace of a bug report; so I didn't specify a version. Thank you.

Added bug #147846 because whether it is a bookmark or an index/table of content reference, the mechanism is the same and leads to the same result: the character style is modified and should not be.
@phv Have just marked bug 147846 as DUP of bug 99330. Your choice about whether to also mark this one as DUP of bug 99330 or wait for confirmation and add a "see also".
I confirm the bug with 7.3.4.2. Left edge and left padding are suppressed.
