The two documents opened side-by-side

This is closely related to bug 112285, which I've just marked as WFM.

So, if we:

0. Check Show Text boundaries, uncheck Show Table Boundaries (e.g. on the View menu)
1. Open the ODT file in that bug (attachment 136111 [details])
2. Save it as a DOCX file
3. Close the DOCX file
4. Open both files (ODT and DOCX)

We'll see how the ODT table exhibits thin gray boundaries, while the DOCX table does not.

Ubuntu package version: 1:7.3.3~rc2-0ubuntu0.21.10.1~lo1

I believe the expected behavior would be to not show Table Boundaries in the ODT file, right?

I _think_ so, but I'm not entirely sure, since I don't know whether a table cell is an area in which we're supposed to see text boundaries. Good point.

Anyway, if you've reproduced, please confirm.

The ODT file should not be showing the table boundaries since View - Table Boundaries option is unchecked.

Setting this to NEW.
