Description Albert Acer 2022-06-23 12:35:29 UTC
Description:
I am a tester user of LibreOffice in Spanish, from Colombia.
When I am testing LO Writer 7.3.4 in Spanish, I have seen that the translation of some strings is missing in the “Edit Paragraph Styles” window as I show in the screenshot attached to this report.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LO Writer 7.3.4 in Spanish.
2. Apply click on the "Styles" menu (“Estilos” in Spanish).
3. Apply Click on the "Edit Style..." option (“Editar Estilo… in Spanish).
4. In the "Paragraph Style" window (“Estilo de Párrafo” in Spanish), find the
"Scheme and List" tab. There, in the description of that tab is the first
   string without translating into Spanish.
5. At the bottom of that window, look for the "Reset to parent" button. There
are other strings not translated into Spanish (button name and description).
   See attached screenshot.

Actual Results:
The following strings are in English but not in Spanish as they should be:
•Set outline level, list style and line numbering for paragraph style.
  •Reset to parent (button)
•Values on this tab specified in “Contains” in Organizer are removed.

Expected Results:
Translate the strings mentioned above to Spanish language

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

In previous situations similar to this, Adolfo Jayme (from Mexico) or Julien Nabet have helped to solve this type of error. They are not from Spain but they have knowledge of the Spanish language just like me.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today + Spanish UI, I could reproduce this.

I know very little Spanish but have access to Weblate to submit translations.

Taking a look at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Language_Teams, there's Adolfo and another guy I don't know, Daniel Armando Rodriguez.

Strings are here:

#. xT7hc
#: sw/uiconfig/swriter/ui/templatedialog2.ui:936
msgctxt "templatedialog2|outline"
msgid "Set outline level, list style and line numbering for paragraph style."
msgstr ""
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/swmessages/es/?checksum=4172912bf0c9163e&q=note%3AxT7hc&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition
Someone suggested:
"Establezca el nivel de esquema, el estilo de lista y la numeración de líneas para el estilo de párrafo."

#. FRWsF
#: sw/inc/strings.hrc:28
msgctxt "STR_STANDARD_TOOLTIP"
msgid "Values on this tab specified in “Contains” in Organizer are removed."
msgstr ""
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/swmessages/es/?checksum=d250bb8b01e52b24&q=note%3AFRWsF&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition
Someone suggested: "Se eliminan los valores de esta pestaña especificados en "Contiene" en el Organizador."

#. qGjWe
#. Dialog buttons
#: sw/inc/strings.hrc:27
msgctxt "STR_STANDARD_LABEL"
msgid "Reset to ~Parent"
msgstr ""
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/swmessages/es/?checksum=90b3ed44f3a99807&q=note%3AqGjWe&sort_by=-priority%2Cposition
Someone suggested: "Restaurar al ~Padre"

If suggestions are ok, I can submit them on Weblate.

For "Set outline level, list style and line numbering for paragraph style",
I fully agree with the translation suggested by Julien. That is the best understandable translation for us native Spanish speakers.

For "Values on this tab specified in “Contains” in Organizer are removed",
I fully agree with the translation suggested by Julien. That is the best understandable translation for us native Spanish speakers.

For "Reset to Parent"
I still have doubts, however, I will soon be providing my final answer.

Bearing in mind that when editing paragraph styles, concepts such as "Parent Style" and "Child Style" or "Base Style" are considered, then the Spanish translation for "Reset to Parent" can be set as "Restaurar al Padre", " just as Julien mentions it.

In conclusion, I approve the translation suggestions to Spanish, of all the strings mentioned in this Bug, as suggested by Julien.

In that order of ideas, the next step is to proceed to set the corresponding translations of those strings in Weblate.
Thanks Julien.

Just for the remind, I'm not Spanish native, I just reported the suggestions already made :-)
Anyway, since it seemed ok, I accepted suggestion:
"Establezca el nivel de esquema, el estilo de lista y la numeración de líneas para el estilo de párrafo."

The 2 others were already accepted and for last one there have been several changes, it's now: "Restablecer al ~Padre". (Weblate shows the history of the translation of a string).

Adolfo: don't hesitate to modify if necessary

Let's put this one to FIXED.
