Description peter josvai 2022-07-04 06:41:12 UTC
hi,

People have so many browser windows open at a time,
also, pretty many documents...

when NAVIGATOR is displaying the outline of a document,
we can see which window / WRITER instance we are viewing...

and I'm sure that this adds to complexity to a great extent...

now, when working with a Master Document,
it might be helpful to have a limitation (which could be lifted temporarily in the future) to have only one master document open at a time...

Once this limitation is in effect, life can be easier for NAVIGATOR...

and CSS...

and there could even be a full window "dashboard" (as in web CMSs)

which would give greater and better control over the project...

I cannot see what end goal this proposal is trying to achieve. The proposal is to limit LibreOffice to only allow no more than one master document open at a time - but the reason is absolutely unclear, worded as "life can be easier for NAVIGATOR" and "there could even be a full window "dashboard"", where both are themselves unclear - what would the "easier life" mean? what is the "dashboard"? Is the real request (or two) in fact to create *some* (which?) better workflow with Navigator, and to implement something called "dashboard"? Then please instead create two separate requests, with clean explanation of the respective problems, and clear requested functionality, and only after that, you could *maybe* *additionally* suggest that it *possibly* could be implemented by the restriction you proposed here. Otherwise - it is very clearly an XY problem [1].
