Description Henry 2022-07-04 13:33:14 UTC
NEW
On my Mac Mini (MacOS Monterey Version 12.4 Processor 3.2 GHz 6-core Intel Core i7) when I open a new Writer document and drag/drop one or more .png images on the page often the cursor changes to a spinning wheel and LibreOffice stops responding (that's what is says when, after a couple of minutes, I click Force Quit.)

After about a minute of not responding, a duplicate icon for the .png file goes from the page back to the icon for the file.

This just started happening yesterday. I deleted LibreOffice and downloaded/installed the one I mention above - that didn't help. I restarted my Mac, that didn't help.

Henry, thank you for reporting the bug. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

I'm running
7.2.7.2 / Libreoffice Community
Build 8d71d29d553c0f7dcbfa38fbfda25ee34cce99a2
Mac OSX 10.16
according to About Libreoffice
but according to my Mac I'm running Version 12.4 (21F79)

I've done at least one more restart of Mac OS X and since my OS updates automatically perhaps that's changed.

Anyhow - as of yesterday I no long see the bug!

Everything worked fine today
Moved 8 .png images to 3 LibreOffice pages and printed them.

Then did one more and LibreOffice froze ("Not Responding") and Force Quit it. Reopened LibreOffice, it asked me if I wanted to restore the previous page and I did that. Once again it froze when I moved a .png image.

Force Quit and reopened LibreOffice and this time discarded the old page - and now it's working.

So there is still a bug - but it is inconsistent.

There have been some macOS stability fixes lately. Do you still experience this with 7.4?

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.

Running LibreOffice 7.4.5.1 on the same Mac Mini which now is updated to Ventura 13.4.1 (c)

Opened a Writer document, dragged/dropped 7 .png files - no problems.
Closed it, opened another Writer document, dragged/dropped 6 .png files - no problems.
