Description PeeWee 2022-07-07 10:20:54 UTC
Description:
On selecting Outline View in Impress, the outline details do not appear in the Workspace.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an Impress presentation file.
2. Select a slide so it appears in the Workspace.
3. Select Outline view to open the outline used on the slide.

Actual Results:
All that appears are small slide icons at the top left of the Outline View. The icons cannot be selected and the text contained in the slide outline does not appear.

Expected Results:
The Outline view in the Workspace should show all the text contained in the slide outline allowing the outline to be modified.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is happening on versions LO 3.4.2 and LO 7.4.0 Beta.
To test this problem, download the file libreoffice-presentation-template-community.odp that is available on the LibreOffice website.

Not repro in

Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d2dfc0c4286057f5d8dda178817de3503c3a7d29
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.13; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I created a file and added bulleted items to a slide and changed to the Outline view. All seemed fine.

I also tried with some templates and could not reproduce this bug.

Can you please share a file where the problem happens?

LO presentation file

I use this file in Impress to check the Impress instructions when creating the Impress User Guide.

Hi Roman, I guess the problem is in the ODP file, not in LibreOffice.

Open the file in attachment 181162 [details] and try adding a new slide. Change the layout of the new slide to "Title, Content". Now add some content to the new slide and check the Outline view. The new content will be there.

In slide 2 the items are in a ordinary textbox. This is why they don't appear in the outline view.

Another test: open the file and try editing it in Outline view and see where the content appears.

In summary, the problem seems to be in the ODP file.

The previous comment gave me an idea to check the Impress file I have been using. This file does not work with outline view as I reported earlier in this bug.

I downloaded a new version of libreoffice-presentation-template-community.otp and tested outline view. Outline view works as expected and I think that this bug can now be closed. It is solved.

It was the file and not Impress.
