I copy images across and even do some editing.
Then I want to copy text.
I copy a block and pate it into the the new doc.

Impress hangs.

Additional Info:
First attempt was with 220706 LibreOfficeDev_7.5.0.0.alpha0_Linux_x86-64_deb
purged Dev version
Installed 220707LibreOfficeDev_7.4.0.1.0_Linux_x86-64_deb
did the same
Then tried Version: 6.4.7.2 Build ID: 1:6.4.7-0ubuntu0.20.04.4
worked without issues
Then open copyfrom file in v6 and copyto file in v7.4
also worked without any issues

The original file was created in windows and then opened and saved by impress in 2015.

Not repro with

Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: d2dfc0c4286057f5d8dda178817de3503c3a7d29
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.13; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I tried to copy various slides, shapes and textboxes from the "from file" into the "to file" and everything worked.

What exactly do you try to copy that causes the hanging?
Comment 5 Elmar 2022-07-08 08:00:04 UTC
from-file:
p6 selected strengths and sub-bullets
pasted into to-file, p6 left hand text box as unformatted text
worked ok
then I selected p6 weaknesses and sub-bullets
in to-file p6 attempted to past under the strengths bullet also as unformatted text
but could not do so.

Linux Mint hangs, which is weird, but only the windows, not actions outside windows, like Windows key, arrow keys,

But will try to replicate again now. First need to get rid of all open work.
then will report back

I tried to replicate the problem today but was not successful.

however, there is still a problem - when I click on close on new file, asks me if I want to save. I click the "do not save" button and nothing happens

eventually returns with not responding dialog. I force to quit
i waited a long time, then clicked close window again, then it responded quickly with the force quit dialog

It happened again yesterday. But I cannot say why.

But I worked for a couple of hours converting old PPT's and ODP's created from PPT's for a couple of hours after that by opening the source document in LO V6.4 and the working document in 7.4.

So I will keep on doing that.

It's been a while. Have you seen this since July 2022?

I have checked this with an ODP from 2010, and it does not have a problem.
