Description ralf.krapf 2022-07-08 09:25:20 UTC
Hi there

As the title says:

Make in a quick search via (CTRL + F), that all tables are searched, not only the visible one. Or alternatively make an option in the quick search bar, to turn the "All-Table-search" on or off.

Why?
Actually it is very frustrating to search in an multi table calc-file:
1. CTRL - F type in the searchword
2. Hm, not found.
3. OK klick on the magnifying glass button.
4. Search again, not found.
5. OK, acitvate "all Tables"
6. Click next search...

Thanks!
Ralf

Let's ask UX_team

From my side it's wontfix. (and I think we already discuss it some years ago)

Because the quick search should be really quick.
If you want to search in all sheets just use Find&Replace dialog (Ctrl+H), there is the option for All sheet search there

Hi Roman

I 100% agree -> the quick search should be quick. But will this speed be affected by searching all spreadsheets by default? I think not.

Result: Same quickness, more power :)

Similar discussion in bug 102506 (Values vs. Formulas) and many more. Besides simplicity on the quick find toolbar, how do you expect results in other sheets to become visible? I assume Find Next jumps to the first occurrence at the next sheet.

Ultimately the same request as bug 98270. Let's continue the discussion there.
