Description Bill Horne 2022-07-14 23:10:04 UTC
Description:
Libre Office 7.3.4.2 (x64) crashes when I try to print a Text document as a PDF and copy text from the Text document into the Save As field to create the file name.
Duplicated the error 5 times; 4 instances were in the previous version of Libre Office.
File *will* Export As PDF without crashing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Save Writer file.
2. Ctrl-P choose Microsoft Print to PDF
3. Ctrl-C to copy text from Writer file
4. Ctrl-V to paste text into Save Print Output As *.pdf

Actual Results:
Libre Office freezes, including a Calc file open at the same time as the Writer file.

Expected Results:
Libre Office Writer should let me paste text into the "Save Print Output As" field, let me click Save, then generate the PDF.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Yes I observe the behavior, Windows 10 (21H2)
Version: 7.3.4.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 13668373362b52f6e3ebcaaecb031bd59a3ac66b
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

But happens with other applications as well. Word 2019 for example.

Happens at the "MS Print to PDF" provided 'Save Print Output As' file name dialog, where attempting to paste a file name for the print, the source program (Word, Writer) goes non-responsive.

And, since LO is really soffice.bin session not surprised that both Writer and Calc go non-responsive at the same time.

Maybe not our bug?

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand the steps.

Step 2 opens LibreOffice's Print dialog. Ok, I choose Microsoft Print to PDF. Now I *suppose* I need to click [Print] button to proceed to the Save As system dialog, right?

Step 3 tells me to use Ctrl+C. On what? On a text opened in another application? Another document opened in another window of LibreOffice? A file selected in the currently opened Save As dialog? On the Save As dialog, but without selecting anything (with cursor blinking in the empty File name box)? Or maybe I shouldn't open the Save As dialog yet, as step 2 didn't include that [Print] button press - and I should Ctrl+C on something in the LibreOffice Print dialog?

And I suppose that Step 4 suggests to paste into File name box - but I might misunderstand, given the above.

I can repo back to

Version: 7.1.8.1 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e1f30c802c3269a1d052614453f260e49458c82c
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL

but does not crash LO calc, impress or MS Word pro plus 2016.

1. Open Writer
2. Type something: say AAA
3. CTRL+A & CTRL+C
4. CTRL+P
5. Select, in my case: Microsoft XPS printer
6. Press OK -> Save as Dialog opens
7. Paste inside the file name field with CTRL+V-> Freeze

Also in 4.4.7.2
