Hi Tim

I can see that the website you linked does not have a "mailto" hyperlink in the source code, but I could not reproduce your issue with LibreOffice 7.2 or 7.3 on Linux: inserting a mailto hyperlink always works for me.

What steps exactly are you using?
To have a mailto link, I do the following: select the text to link; go to Insert > Hyperlink > Mail (or use Ctrl + K); write an email address in the Recipient field; click OK.

Does that not work?

If it still doesn't, please include a series of steps to reproduce, or an example document, as well as the version information for the version of LibreOffice you have (in Help > About LibreOffice).

I have been removing them because I can not get it to work properly.
This page still has the link.

I would highlight, insert Hyperlink, click on mail, put in email and subject then click apply then ok and exit.

Inserting the link is no problem. It is what happen on the page for someone clicking on the link. When I click on the link online nothing happens at all. So hence there is an issue.

Tim, the link at the page http://meeks.family/Neyman.html works for me on both mobile (iOS and Safari, opening the mail app) and on desktop (Ubuntu 20.04 with Firefox 104.0, offering to open various email clients like Thunderbird), with the subject line "The Neyman Family".

Indeed, the source code of the website contains the following tag:

<a href="mailto:ContactTheMeeksFamily@gmail.com?subject=The%20Neyman%20Family">

I'm going to mark this bug as "not a bug" given that it seems to work as expected, and the issue might be with the web browser you are using or the settings on your computer.

Could you please let us know which web browser you are using to click the link, and could you please try with a different one? Which email client are you expecting to be used when clicking the link?

Cheers
