Source spreadsheet to reproduce the issue

When I copy a diagram which uses percentage values from Calc to Writer, the numbers loose their formatting.

The axis labels turn from 10 % to 0.1, data series values from 12 % to 0.12927458374953847, so with higher precision.

Please find attached a simple spreadsheet to reproduce the issue. Simply copy & paste the diagram to Writer.

The issue exists for some years now.

Effect is REPRODUCIBLE with reporter's and own sample spreadsheet and Installation of Version: 7.3.3.2 (x64)
Build ID: d1d0ea68f081ee2800a922cac8f79445e4603348
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE | Calc: threaded | ElementaryTheme | My normal User Profile

Might have relations to "Bug 112245 - Copy paste XY chart with Points and Lines from Calc into Writer loses date format when hovering", which was not reprodciblefor me in sample document.

Already reproducible with LibO 4.0 (osmedetails differ).

I will do further research later.

@reporter:
Your OS?
Comment 2 Andy Pillip 2022-07-30 17:28:28 UTC
Oh yeah sorry:

Version: 7.3.4.2
Build ID: 30(Build:2)
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.18; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

Fedora 36 on Wayland (64 bit, of course)

It‘s also reproducible for me with the gen UI.

a) Might be not a bug, but related to checked option "option "Source format"
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-07-30 17:30:53 UTC
b) not a Writer bug, effect also reproducible when paste to Draw.
Comment 5 Andy Pillip 2022-07-30 17:33:30 UTC
How’s that? I’m simply copying the diagram, there is no option to choose and expectation would be to have the same settings in the target diagram.

When going into the target diagram’s number format options, “Use source format” *is checked*, but not applied.

I just created a related bug, which additionally bugs me when I need to correct the number format: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150196
Comment 6 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-07-30 17:49:26 UTC
> there is no option to choose
In Spreadsheet Chart: ˋDoubleclick Chartx → Click most top yellow bar (30 %) → Click again → rightclick data labeling → Tab"Data Labeling" → Number Format → Uncheck "Source Format" → select format "percent" → Ok → Okˊ
Now cpoy/past to Writer (or Presentation ...) again: problem has gone for that bar.
Comment 7 Andy Pillip 2022-07-30 17:52:12 UTC
I see. So you are saying that the format changing between Calc and other products is intended, because the target document does not have a “Source format”?
Comment 8 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-07-30 21:03:17 UTC
> is intended
Well, maybe not intended, but currently inevitable. Should be improved. We will have to think about an enhancement.

Screenshot of new data table

The screenshot shows the core of the problem. For copy paste of a chart to a not Calc document a new data source table with the numeric data for the chart will be created. And as the screenshot shows data formatting of original source will become lost

c) This one might be DUP of or related to
"Bug 68942 - Copy&Paste from Calc to Writer should burn in the source
    format of number"
"Bug 142108 - Calc chart loses number formatting on bars when pasted in Writer
doc where shows all decimal parts instead of using original format setting"
Comment 11 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-07-31 06:49:07 UTC
c) Bug 68942 is limited to pasting in particular format.
So this one is a DUP of Bug 142108
