The file shows the bug result and the expected result

1. Open Libre Office Calc new empty spreadsheet
2. I need to open a csv file from my data storage
3. Go to Data -> xml source. xml source popup opens
4. Click on the storage icon
5. Search the file I need to oper in my storage and select it
6. The xml popup window contains the metadata of the file
7. I search the "Starting point" of the table I need to see in the spreadsheet
8. No other item in the list has been selected, so I can't open the file and see the table.

Expected result

1. Open Libre Office Calc new empty spreadsheet
2. I need to open a csv file from my data storage
3. Go to Data -> xml source. xml source popup opens
4. Click on the storage icon
5. Search the file I need to oper in my storage and select it
6. The xml popup window contains the metadata of the file
7. I search the "Starting point" of the table I need to see in the spreadsheet
8. All the indented item are selected
9. I select the spreadsheet cell where to start the table
10. The table appears

Both the file have the same structure and the same origin (same provider)

The csv files on error can't be opened by Libre Office Calc, but they can by Microsoft Excel, so it seems the csv file are regular and not damaged.

I'm sorry: how CSV is related to XML Source? Possibly you could use Sheet->Insert Sheet from File...?

I've always opened csv files this way. If I try Sheet > Insert sheet from file, Libre Office Calc always crashes. The restored version shows an empty spreadsheet

I don't see where CSV would be involved in any way. You are trying to open a XML file.

As explain, this is not a correct report for CSV.
Let's focus this bug on crash. Please attach file that crashes LO.
Make sure it's without personal info, or make minimal sample.
Just confirm that it crashes on insert in empty sheet.
