Description Richard Howe 2022-08-04 15:41:43 UTC
Description:
The word 'Bathroom' is a common English word. It is not exclusively American. It is underlined in blue so I right click it and see it says 'American word'. I choose ignore and it only ignores the current instance of the word. All other instances of 'bathroom' continue to be underlined. So instead I choose 'Spelling'. The box says 'Not in dictionary' and 'Small shed next to bathroom:', and suggests 'toilet' which is not an equivalent as, in English, that refers to a room with only a toilet, or a toilet and wash basin. I choose [Add to Dictionary] and the [Add to Dictionary button] disappears and the word bathroom remains underlined in blue in the main text. This should not happen. Do I have to restart the program? That shouldn't be necessary. I have English (UK) installed.

1. Please use latest LO, at least Still 7.2.7 or better Fresh 7.3.5.
2. 'Bathroom' is not shown incorrect with English UK, no red. You may have older dictionary.
3. Blue should be grammar check, maybe 2 spaces?
4. If I write Bathroomm then correction Bathroom is offered.

Can you please check?

I upgraded to 7.5.0.3. The wordpro still underlines 'bathroom' in blue but the 'Ignore All' option now seems to work during a session. Ideally 'bathroom' would not be underlined as underlines are visually irritating but with a valid reason. Perhaps there is an option somewhere to turn off all blue underlining. I no longer see this as a bug so have marked this as resolved.
