Which precise LO version do you use?
Which Windows do you have? (Seven, 10, 11)
Do you confirm you use Windows 32 bits?

Last one is 7.3.5, if you don't have this one, please download it from official website (see https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/).

Also, you can give a try at https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Corrupted_user_profile ?

Finally if you still have pb, could you indicate what's the error precisely when you try to open a file?

Hello Julien,

thank you for answering,

LO version used is 7.3
Windows version is 10
For Windows number of bits, it might be 64 but I do not know how to check.

Currently, when I try to open a file, it refers me to Adobe Acrobat Reader software (32 bits) (I said yes by mistake to convert files to that format).

After downloading LO 7.3.5 version last night, I cannot access any file nor use taht version of software at all.

Hoping this information is adequate,

Thanks

Ok because it's better to install LO 32 bits if you use Windows 32 bits
and if you use Windows 64 bits to install LO 64 bits.

If it's just an association problem (since when you click on your files, your pc tries to open it with Acrobat Reader), you can follow this link:
https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-change-file-associations/

Could you give it a try?

- reporter, you were asked to reset LO user profile, did you do it?
- can you start LO and open a new document and save and open again from LO?
- please paste here info from Help-About?

Yes, I updated user profile, I will now reboot computer and see if it makes a difference.

Right now, I still cannot access my files even though the LO calc and writer icons have reappeared in my file list.

Everything seems to work normally now. I reinstalled the current version of LO 7.3.5.2 and reopened one of my files correctly.

Thank you for all your help, il has been very useful.

Ok let’s put this one to WFM then.
Comment 8 Timur 2022-08-18 20:02:48 UTC
WFM is when there was a bug and it was fixed but we don't know when. (Indicating that reverse bibisect may find a fix).
Here, it wasn't a reproducible bug.
If reinstallation or profile reset fixes a problem, NotABug.
