On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this. I noticed this on console: warn:xmloff:31163:31163:sax/source/fastparser/fastparser.cxx:1324: unknown element xsi:type http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance warn:xmloff:31163:31163:sax/source/fastparser/fastparser.cxx:1248: unknown attribute defaultSlicerStyle=SlicerStyleLight1 I suppose Excel slicer formatting hasn't been implemented yet in Calc.

LibreOffice and Excel display the document in the same way. Could you please explain how the document was generated and attach a screenshot on how the document should look ?
I don't know where the file was originally generated but I've edited it using Onlyoffice to remove some personal data from it and that's the last time the file was saved. Both Onlyoffice and Google docs show the file without the black on columns and rows, I've not tested Microsoft Office.
office.com does not show it with a black background, though. Already seen in LibreOffice 3.5.
