In my case, the font is selected but the font list is not scrolled to the Liberation Serif font. So this is why it seems the font is not selected. I believe by default the selected font should be visible. This happens with any other font. For instance, if you format text with a different font and go to this dialog again, the font will be selected, but the selection won't be visible. Tested with Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9ba1e1486bf3fcccf98da93d3963b3d4036705a9 CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb) Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded

I'm setting this to NEW because the problem seems to be limited to gen and kf5. If you use gtk3 the font will be selected and scrolled to as expected. Works fine for me in (notice gtk3) Version: 7.5.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9ba1e1486bf3fcccf98da93d3963b3d4036705a9 CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
