Description Adam 2022-09-22 21:46:35 UTC
Description:
I don't know English - Googletranslate.
I am working on the Polish language version on Linux Ubuntu 20.04.
I was working on libreoffice 7.3.6 - there was a bug in Calc with the frequency-stat function execution.
Today I installed the latest version of 7.4.1.
in this version the problem persists.
I think it comes from interpreting the date format.
I counted how many times in each month there was a transaction in the set.
I chose the function wizard,
I chose the frequency
I've marked the range of data (dates)
and marked the range of categories (dates)
results are shifted and incorrect
effect - the chart is also incorrect.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I chose the function wizard,
I chose the frequency
I've marked the range of data (dates)
and marked the range of categories (dates)
results are shifted and incorrect
effect - the chart is also incorrect.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
results are shifted and incorrect
effect - the chart is also incorrect.

Expected Results:
no false

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Attached is the file with errors in the function frequency - date, month, quarter.

possibly the function does not recognize the date format - correctly
please add the following date formats as original,
DD.MM.YYYY - date
MM.YYYY - month of the year
Q.YYYY - quarter of the year - 1q.2022
DD.MM.YYYY:HH.MM - date and time

I don't find any bug.

In 'tabela częstości.A20:a34' the mm.yyyy are strings, not dates, that can't be recognizer like dates. You can see it, if you try to change the cell format, it doesn't change, again because it is not a true spreadsheet date. The same happen with other supposed dates.
You need to work with true dates, or to create auxiliary columns to use with the frequency function.

On the other side, please read carefully the help file:///C:/Program%20Files/LibreOffice/help/en-US/text/scalc/01/04060107.html?DbPAR=CALC#bm_id3159084 on how tu use the function.
Before 01/05/21, there are no values on 'transakcje podobne.A1:A32' (the lower 26/05/2021), calculating with dd/mm/yyyy date. So only one between 01/05/2021 and 01/06/2021.
