Created attachment 182688 [details] Dialog box asking 32 -bit Java installation. Couldn't establish connection to the existing database file because LibreOffice Base asks 32-bit version of Java installation. But I already installed latest version(Java 18) 64-bit on my laptop. When I try to open the data base file,I get the following dialog box: "The connection to the data source "Test" couldn't be established. No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation."
Do you use LO 32 bits or LO 64 bits? Indeed, if you only got Java 64 bits, you must install LO 64 bits.
You seem not to report bug, but to ask for help/support on how to install Java. Instead, support is at ask.libreoffice.org.

(In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #1) > Do you use LO 32 bits or LO 64 bits? > Indeed, if you only got Java 64 bits, you must install LO 64 bits. I am using LO 64 bits 7.5 alpha release from this website: https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html And my system is running on Windows 10 with JRE 64-bits version.
[Automated Action] NeedInfo-To-Unconfirmed
Stephan: thought you might be interested in this one since it concerns Java. Now if you got no pb with Java 18 on LO perhaps it's just an install pb as suggested by Timur.
Why call someone without confirming the problem? This is NotABug so far. In general, LO installation works with JRE 8. There is no Java 18 at https://www.java.com/en/download/. You may attach database if without personal info. Issue may be that database was created as 32-bit, here it's not clear which database it is.
(In reply to Timur from comment #6) > Why call someone without confirming the problem? Because I know that Stephan knows well how to fix Java issues in LO. > This is NotABug so far. Nothing indicates the Java install is ko so UNCONFIRMED or NEEDINFO seems ok here. > In general, LO installation works with JRE 8. Ok but we're talking about Java 18 > There is no Java 18 at https://www.java.com/en/download/. No, last Java version is 19 (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_(programming_language) 18 version is here: See https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/javase/jdk18-archive-downloads.html remark: the link is about jdk but I suppose it contains a jre of the same version.
Rajasekaran: in the meanwhile, could you try https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Corrupted_user_profile just to force LO rescan Java install(s) in your machine? If you still reproduce this, could you attach a screenshot corresponding to: Menu tools/options/advanced ?
Created attachment 182751 [details] Tried to scan Java in LO 7.5 Alpha version I scanned in LO 7.5 alpha release for detecting JRE installation. But it doesn't detect it. I attached the screenshot also.
Both JRE 8 and JDK 18 and 19 are detected and work in my Win 10. Missing is a result of LO user profile folder rest, rename or delete. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Corrupted_user_profile

Again, you need to try LO user profile folder reset, rename or delete. If that doesn't help, you may try to remove that JDK and try some other one, like 19.

I deleted the LO user profile folder from " C:\Users\<username>\AppData" and opened the Base. And this problem still exists.I am running JDK 19_2022-09-20.
Downloaded and installed the LO 7.5 alpha release again from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html. And it is currently works for me.I think this issue was fixed.
