Description:
Formatting marks: the space formatting mark indicator (bullet) is sometimes not shown

Steps to Reproduce:
Case A
1. Open attachment 182737 [details]
2. Toggle formatting marks ON (if not enabled already)
3. There is a space between the black (non-formatted) hello and follow up colored hello.. except there is no blue bullet formatting mark

It does appear when changing alignment from justified to left

Formatting mark is missing between the two hindi words. It appears, if you mark the words and click on font size (not necessary to change font size)

Bibisected with linux-43max to a range (lots of skipped commits), where this seems interesting: fb99a6b9958815eb1ad27179d252a379ce8b79fd
fdo#68071 NPC characters now use a fixed color.
