Bug 131073 shows there are different user expectations how to make Optimal row height when there are hidden columns. Solution is an option in Optimal Height dialog, named "Ignore hidden", default unchecked. Open attachment 158312 [details] and see that most populous B column is hidden. Mark row 1 and do Optimal height. Actual Results: The row 1 height does not change, calculates also B. Expected Results: To have an option that row 1 height is adjusted to C, not B, so height more decreased.
Thanks Timur, sounds sensible. Same in OOo 3.3 and: Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 2e57755f72907e4bb604a8ba32edbd6c253ee57c CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded UX team, what would be the best UI for that?
Sounds like a good compromise. Any objection, Eike? Btw, this "Default Value" option is hard to understand and the documentation not informative. (The option would be added to the "Optimal Row Height / Column Width" dialog. If checked, the hidden row/col remains hidden resp. zero.)
No objection, let's do it.
