Description Gary Meerschaert 2022-10-07 10:13:36 UTC
Description:
When displaying the documentation in English, several passages show up like this

This can be seen in the HTML. On the page https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/si/text/swriter/main0000.html?DbPAR=WRITER

Part of the HTML reads as follows:

<head>
<base href="../../../">
<noscript><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=../../../si/noscript.html"></noscript>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy" content="script-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval' piwik.documentfoundation.org">
<title>LibreOffice Writer උපකාරකය වෙතට සාදරයෙන් පිළිගනිමු</title>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="media/navigation/favicon.ico">
<link type="text/css" href="normalize.css" rel="Stylesheet">
<link type="text/css" href="prism.css" rel="Stylesheet">
<link type="text/css" href="default.css" rel="Stylesheet">
<script type="text/javascript" async="" defer="" src="//piwik.documentfoundation.org/piwik.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="polyfills.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="languages.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="si/langnames.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="flexsearch.debug.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="prism.js"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="help2.js" defer=""></script><script type="text/javascript" src="a11y-toggle.js" defer=""></script><script type="text/javascript" src="paginathing.js" defer=""></script><script type="text/javascript" src="si/bookmarks.js" defer=""></script><script type="text/javascript" src="si/contents.js" defer=""></script><script type="text/javascript" src="help.js" defer=""></script><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1">
</head>

This occurs in numerous place throughout the documentation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/si/text/swriter/main0000.html?DbPAR=WRITER
2. The incorrect text will be shown
3.

Actual Results:
Just go to the LibreOffice help page. Click on any subsidiary page type (Writer, Sheets, Draw, etc.). All of them have incorrect text in the HTML. It is not a function of the language settings.

Expected Results:
All of the text in the HTML should be in English and then translated by the browser settings into other languages.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Display the text properly in the user's language.

The "/si/" in the URL mean that this is Sinhalese help page. The English help page is

https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/swriter/main0000.html?DbPAR=WRITER

Possibly you found that page somewhere in search results, and didn't notice that search engines could provide results from different localized versions?

OTOH, the unfortunately severely incomplete translation of that page (which likely reflects how that language community needs volunteers) also confuses by making one thing that they see English page.
