Unless I miss something, when in 'presenter' mode, i.e. when actually giving a presentation, the formatting of notes - the boldface and italic, and indeed I think vertical whitespace - is ignored, i.e. does not show. Or at least this happens with note formatting that I created within PowerPoint, and saved as a PowerPoint file. I do not have time to test at present whether the same fate - viz., being ignored - happens to note formatting, in presenter view, when that formatting was created within Impress and/or when a native Impress file-type is being used. This removal of formatting from notes is a serious inconvenience: I added the formatting precisely to help me when I am giving the presentation. Further: this problem exacerbates, and is exacerbated by, the problem that, in presenter view, one can scroll the notes only with great difficulty. There is an existing bug report for that. Just now I tried, and failed, to find that report.
Any chance of getting someone assigned to this bug, please?
Not reproducible in: Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 77fca616e0bd79e0b405fd0b3543cf8e94e15df3 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Given the report that the alpha version of LibreOffice does not have the problem, I will close this bug report (and re-open it, or else create a new report, if the problem recurs once that alpha version hits the release version).
