Description: Sometimes LibreOffice freezes on start. The only way to get it work again boot windows in safe mode, then run LibreOffice in safe mode and reset it. There are various discussions on this issue, but no one is conclusive. It can't be reproduced by intent, though it happens more after version update. I'm ready to collect logs, enable debugs, build LibreOffice with additional logs enabled and so on. Actual Results: LibreOffice freezes. Expected Results: LibreOffice starts. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Freezes.
Which version of LibreOffice did you use?
Currently I have Version: 7.4.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 1048a8393ae2eeec98dff31b5c133c5f1d08b890 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded but it happened long time with previous versions as well. People complains about the same issues for years.

Thank you for being willing to collect a backtrace. Can you please: - check that Windows and your drivers are up to date - test again with the latest version of LibreOffice 7.4 or 7.5 - if you can still reproduce, see if disabling Skia helps, as suggested by Buovjaga - collect a trace with: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg Thank you!
Well, it happens again and didn't start even in safe mode. So I rebooted Windows to safe mode, then launched Office in safe mode, disabled Skia and rebooted Windows to normal mode. Office still hangs on start. I installed WinDbg, though there is no crash I attached to soffice.bin and several times stopped the execution and watch call stacks of threads. It's the same on each break. Just to clarify on this, if you change an option *while running in Safe Mode*, this change will be forgotten once you exit LibreOffice. So rather, did you select Configure - Disable hardware acceleration and then click Apply changes and restart in the Safe Mode dialog, without continuing in Safe Mode?

I run main LO application, disables Skia and h/w acceleration, restarted it, but still can't run Office applications. I guess the simple way to investigate the issue is to collect logs. Is it possible?
Can you also check with the latest unstable, which installs separately: Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF from https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
Well, I'll try, but I don't believe it will help. The issue is many years old with many different LO versions, and no reason is suggested.
And it's not reproducible by will, just happens sometimes. So it's the best to try pinpoint it just know, when it happens and I don't need working LO at this moment.
I'm wondering if this is another "network printer unavailable" slowdowns (bug 42673). I see in your screenshots "WinSalInstance::GetDefaultPrinter", mentioned in bug 42673 comment 44. And you say the issue is only sometimes reproduced. Does the freeze only happen when connected to a network and a printer is unavailable?
> Does the freeze only happen when connected to a network and a printer is > unavailable? It's home computer with Ethernet connection to router and without network printer, so I don't think it's related. Anyway I reinstalled Windows and now freeze stopped, so I guess bug could be closed as not reproducible.
