THE PROBLEM: - State 1: HOME to the first column of the sheet: If you click in a cell (say at column C for example), and ENTER EDIT MODE by typing a letter, now if you press HOME key your cursor will be sent to column A. - State 2: HOME to the first letter inside a cell: If you ENTER EDIT MODE by pressing F2 key, now if you press HOME key the cursor will move to the first letter of the cell you are editing. I believe having 2 states giving different behaviors for the navigation keys are confusing (HOME, ARROWS as well, etc.) THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: - State 2, editing the cell and keep the cursor moving within the edited text is the expected behavior. - If you want to navigate the sheet by using State 1, you should first press ESC to exit EDITING MODE. I am unsure if this is a bug: the same happens with directional keys and other navigation keys (page keys, End key...), depending on if edit mode was entered or not. Note: on some keyboards, the Home key can be called "Pos 1" or "Début". (Are we talking about the same key here? Just checking.) Maybe the behaviour should be clarified in the documentation ? https://help.libreoffice.org/7.3/en-US/text/scalc/04/01020000.html

The behaviour is exactly the same in Excel 365 (state 1 and 2). Not a bug. Eventually one can improve the Help, with the set of keyboard shortcuts in cell edit mode, as explained in F2: "With a cell selected, press F2 to open cell contents for editing. If the cell contains a formula, use arrow keys to navigate the sheet to easily enter range addresses into the formula."

Dear Xisco Faulí , I confirm the bug still exists in LibreOffice 25.8.0.4 Bottom line: You are editing the cell, if you are editing for a long time, say for a complex formula, you may even forget how you start editing. If you started by typing, and then use HOME to go to the begin of the formula, you will be unplesantly surprised to see your edition commited and your cursor jumping all the way to the first column (A) of that row. Thanks for looking into it. Dr. Bèco.
As explained in comment 3, this is not a bug. Only the documentation could be clarified.
