Description: I created a document with a 3x5 paper size. When I tried to print it, my printer threw a paper size error. Somehow LibreOffice 7.3.7.2 on Mac Os 12.6 thinks my index card document should be printed on letter size paper. I figured this out by sending my printout to pdf or ps and then viewing the resultant file in another program. My ancient install of OpenOffice 4.1.6 has the same problem. My solution was to use Apple's Pages program. That program did not exhibit the paper size error. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a document with 3x5 paper size 2. Load index card paper in your printer 3. Try to print the document Actual Results: Printer throws a paper size error Expected Results: Getting a document to print Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Thanks for working on LibreOffice
Thank you for your report, David. Could you please give us your precise version and system information in Help > About LibreOffice? And how do you set the document size exactly? I suspect you might have the same issue as in Bug 78916 or Bug 107030.
Someone asked for more information about this problem report so here we go. Here is more version information from "About LibreOffice:" Version: 7.3.7.2 / LibreOffice Community Build: e114eadc50a9f8d8c8a0567d.. Environment: CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 12.6 User Interface: UI render: default; VCL: osX Locale: en-US (en US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Misc: Calc: threaded To set the page size, I selected Format, Page Style, and then set the width to 5 and the height to 3. This is the only way I know to set page size to that of an index card.
Some more questions: - In the print dialog, what do you use for the "Paper Size"? This would have to match the 3×5 card format (and the options available depend on the printer that is selected) - Have you tried exporting direct to PDF with "File > Exports as > Export as PDF", and then check the size of the resulting PDF (in the file properties)? I get a 3×5 inch PDF (which is 127×76 mm). Thank you!
