Description: I have recently tested the Noto Serif Ahom font, which is not implementing correctly in Libre office. There are six issues in which the font is not working correctly: i) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant ii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is ‘crashing into’ the final consonant to its left iii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN II (U+11723) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant iv) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AI (U+11729) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant v) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AW (U+11727) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant vi) The ‘wrap’, AHOM CONSONANT SIGN MEDIAL RA (U+1171E) is not kerned correctly with the consonants and is too far to the left and is crashing into the right side of the consonant Note that when I copy a piece of text typed in Libre Office into Facebook using Firefox, all of the six features implement correctly. Steps to Reproduce: I am unsure what to write here, but I can provide documentation of the problem Actual Results: First of all I typed a set of text into Libre Office. This was the text 𑜀𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜁𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜂𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜃𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜄𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜆𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜀𑜣 𑜁𑜣 𑜂𑜣 𑜃𑜣 𑜄𑜣 𑜆𑜣 𑜀𑜦 𑜁𑜦 𑜂𑜦 𑜃𑜦 𑜄𑜦 𑜆𑜦 𑜀𑜩 𑜁𑜩 𑜂𑜩 𑜃𑜩 𑜄𑜩 𑜆𑜩 𑜀𑜧 𑜁𑜧 𑜂𑜧 𑜃𑜧 𑜄𑜧 𑜆𑜧 𑜀𑜞𑜡 𑜁𑜞𑜡 𑜄𑜞𑜡 𑜆𑜞𑜡 𑜇𑜞𑜡 𑜉𑜞𑜡 𑜀𑜞𑜢𑜃𑜫 𑜀𑜞𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜉𑜪𑜧 𑜁𑜪𑜧 𑜂𑜪𑜧 𑜃𑜪𑜧 𑜄𑜪𑜧 𑜆𑜪𑜧 𑜀𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜁𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜂𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜃𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜄𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜆𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 𑜅𑜦𑜊𑜡 Expected Results: The font does not implement the font correctly as in these six features. i) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant ii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is ‘crashing into’ the final consonant to its left iii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN II (U+11723) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant iv) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AI (U+11729) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant v) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AW (U+11727) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant vi) The ‘wrap’, AHOM CONSONANT SIGN MEDIAL RA (U+1171E) is not kerned correctly with the consonants and is crashing into the right side of the consonant Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: If I could have attached a .pdf I would be able to show how the font appears when correctly implemented, as for example using Facebook or the Converter created by Craig Cornelius at converter is http://languagetools-153419.appspot.com/aho/convertUI/ In these places, the same string of text that I put into the 'Actual Results' box implements correctly, without the six problems listed above.

I don't see that LibreOffice had bundled that Noto Serif Ahom font

Created attachment 188019 [details] File explaining the implementation problems of Noto Serif Ahom in Libre Office
I apologize if I do not understand well how to correctly indicate a bug in this site. I am not a technical person but I am hoping that the Noto Serif Ahom font can be made to implement correctly in Libre Office, so that members of the Ahom community can use their script correctly on line. I tested the font in six different forms, and found the following problems that do NOT implement correctly in Libre Office but do implement correctly in other applications as for example Facebook in Firefox version 106.0.5 These are the six problems: i) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant ii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is ‘crashing into’ the final consonant to its left iii) The Ahom Vowel SIGN II (U+11723) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant iv) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AI (U+11729) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant v) The Ahom Vowel SIGN AW (U+11727) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant vi) The ‘wrap’, AHOM CONSONANT SIGN MEDIAL RA (U+1171E) is not kerned correctly with the consonants and is too far to the left and is crashing into the right side of the consonant I have illustrated this in a pdf that this 'Bugzilla' will not allow me to upload. Is there a way that I can upload this? Thank you, Stephen Morey
The Noto Serif Ahom font is not correctly implementing in Libre Office version 7.4.2.3, whereas it does correctly implement in Facebook as used in Firefox version 106.0.5. I am writing this in the hope that the Tai Ahom community can use their script properly in applications such as Libre Office. There are six ways in which the font does not implement properly: 1. The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant 2. The Ahom Vowel SIGN I (U+11722) is ‘crashing into’ the final consonant to its left 3. The Ahom Vowel SIGN II (U+11723) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant 4. The Ahom Vowel SIGN AI (U+11729) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant 5. The Ahom Vowel SIGN AW (U+11727) is shifted too far to the right from the initial consonant 6. The ‘wrap’, AHOM CONSONANT SIGN MEDIAL RA (U+1171E) is not kerned correctly with the consonants and is too far to the left and is crashing into the right side of the consonant I tried to upload a .pdf demonstrating the problems, but this 'bugzilla' will not allow me to do that. It would be a real help if there was an email that I could send things to. With many thanks Stephen Morey moreystephen@hotmail.com
Created attachment 188020 [details] screenshot of block of characters in LO 7.4.7.2 (In reply to Stephen Morey from comment #10) > I tried to upload a .pdf demonstrating the problems, but this 'bugzilla' > will not allow me to do that. Your attachment is in the "attachments" section above the comments, it worked. Thanks for sharing that. Still, the original ODT file would also be helpful. I tested that block of characters using the Noto Serif Ahom font in LO, and it displays as you expect, based on the PDF you shared. (See my screenshot.) Version: 7.4.7.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 723314e595e8007d3cf785c16538505a1c878ca5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: fr-FR (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Using version 2,00 of NotoSerifAhom-Regular.
Thank you Stephane. Here is the .odt

Stephane Your screen shot looks fine; but mine still doesn't work. Could it be that I need to update my version of Libre Office? I am sorry if it is that. Stephen
(In reply to Stephen Morey from comment #14) > Stephane > Your screen shot looks fine; but mine still doesn't work. Could it be that I > need to update my version of Libre Office? I am sorry if it is that. > > Stephen Thanks for the file. It displays well for me in 7.4.7, but also in 7.3.7, so the issue doesn't seem related to versions. In any case, it's a good idea to keep updated. Please do the following: - Update to a recent version: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download-libreoffice/ - Share with us the version of the font. Is it and older version than 2,01 ? If so, update it: https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Serif+Ahom - If the issue persists, please share you LibreOffice version information in full, copied from Help > About LibreOffice Thanks!

I've just uploaded and installed the latest version of Libre Office (7.5.4.2) and also downloaded the fonts again from https://fonts.google.com/noto/specimen/Noto+Serif+Ahom. I have re-installed the font (I think) and the version seems to be 2.006; I couldn't find where on the Noto site they say which version it is. But it is still not implementing correctly.
Just to cover all bases, please try in safe mode with Help > Restart in Safe Mode. If that fixes it, you can use the same dialog to reset your user profile.
Thanks, I tried logging in to Libre Office in Safe Mode and it didn't make any difference. Can I just double check that 2.0006 is the latest version of the font?

I also tested on Windows 11 and can't see the issue: Version: 7.6.6.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d97b2716a9a4a2ce1391dee1765565ea469b0ae7 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22631; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: threaded I see you are using Windows 10, build 19044 (21H2). Are you able to get the latest Windows 10 update? (22h2)
