Description almos 2022-11-26 15:43:32 UTC
Description:
The crash doesn't happen when duplicating a slide right after opening the file. It has to be edited for quite a while. I can't tell if the slide has to have specific objects to trigger the crash.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit a presentation for a while
2. Click on the Duplicate Slide button on the toolbar
3. Segmentation fault

Actual Results:
Crash

Expected Results:
No crash

How many hours did you spend editing the standard template when you tried to reproduce the bug? It doesn't happen right away when you open a presentation.

I could not reproduce on Linux either:

Version: 7.4.6.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 5b1f5509c2decdade7fda905e3e1429a67acd63d
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

almos, can you please update to 7.4.6 and let us know if you can still reproduce the crash?

Thank you!

I haven't seen this crash with 7.5. Although, when I reported this I was doing quite intensive presentation editing, and I'm not doing that nowadays.
Comment 8 Stéphane Guillou (stragu) 2023-09-22 13:40:09 UTC
From the backtrace (for discoverability):

Thread 1 "soffice.bin" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x00007faaca441adc in SdrView::PickAnything(Point const&, SdrViewEvent&) const () from /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libmergedlo.so

Let's close as "works for me" for now, but please set to "unconfirmed" again if you can provide more information or reproduce in a recent version. If it crashes again, please see if you can report it with the Crash Report dialog.

Thank you!
