Description elu 2022-12-01 02:05:58 UTC
Description:
This has been maddening for years and has caused me to have to use other programs. Gridlines print very faintly, almost not visible. There is no way to darken them. And as far I can tell, there is not even a way to make them wider, only change their color on the screen, which does not change how they print at all. This seems like a really simple fix. I hope it is, and I hope it will get fixed pronto!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Duh, print a spreadsheet and notice how faint the gridlines are, then discover there is no way to change that.
2.Attempt to widen the gridlines, and discover there is no way to do that either.
3.Feel frustrated.

Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
See above.

Reproducible: Always

Wait! Some reason you do not apply Borders from the 'Format Cells...' dialog?

From the 'Borders' tab, select the "Outer Border and All Inner Lines" preset.

You can then select the Line 'Width'

Select the entire sheet, or just portion of a sheet with cell data to format.

Those "gridlines" certainly do print!

Phew. That did work if I first selected the area, then clicked the tab, then printed. The strange thing is that even though there was only 1 sheet and 1 page shown, it printed Page 1,2,3, though that is easy enough to control. Thanks for your help, V Stuart.

Also have precise control via the main toolbar's Format -> Print Ranges -> Define or Edit... to work against a selection--that can be saved into the ODF spreadsheet.

Thanks for this. For some reason when I click on Format - Print Ranges -Define,
I get absolutely nothing, no response. With Ëdit", I get options, but none of them has anything to do with line darkness.
