Description Michael Hoffmann 2022-12-11 15:15:55 UTC
Description:
I am using Version: 7.4.3.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 1048a8393ae2eeec98dff31b5c133c5f1d08b890
CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
In a text document of 510KB with about 8 images and lots of bookmarks and cross-references, the memory consumption increases until it crashes, in particular when I scroll a lot up and down the text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. scrolling up and down with wheel on mouse
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Memory overflow (97% memory use) and then crash. LibreOffice needs to be restarted and the last version reconstructed from autosafe.

Expected Results:
Crash of LibreOffice

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Clear up memory space.
Comment 1 Michael Hoffmann 2022-12-11 18:14:58 UTC
The Writer document is about 50 pages long, has about 30 bookmarks, 7 figures in a frame, and about 35 cross-references, mainly to the bookmarks.

Please test with a clean profile, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode
Comment 3 Michael Hoffmann 2022-12-11 18:56:48 UTC
Great! It seems to work. After heavy scrolling in safe mode, nothing unusual regarding use of memory. No crashing. After restarting Windows and loading the file in normal mode, everything worked fine as well. But memory use went up to 1.5GB after heavy scrolling. This, however, does not pose a problem on my machine.

Thanks a lot for your quick help,
Michael
