this was the error shown in the terminal when I used the "open" command

I am using Pop OS (Ubuntu based) and had an error where any program with comments would give a PDF that wouldn't open when "comments as PDF annotations" was on in the settings menu, that setting is on by default when comments are in the file. The export would finish and the preview would try to open but instead would show nothing, glitch out and close. When I used the "open" command in the terminal it gave me an error talking about alpha values (image included). And one of the weirdest things was that the preview in my GUI file manager would display what looked like my page but no comments can be seen.

Could you please attach here your file that you exported to PDF?

I am adding the .pdf that was exported as an attachment. I didn't save the presentation file when demoing the bug but I will re-create it in a second and send the file.

Comment 5 Jason Spitzak 2022-12-12 11:18:04 UTC
I have found that most pdf reading applications successfully read the file, the only one that fails is document viewer. I have never encountered a different pdf file that it can't read but others can, it also doesn't fail when opening any other impress pdf exports. This undoubtedly has something to do with it being unable to read annotations, this is more a problem with document viewer than it is with impress. I recommend that this issue is closed
